FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Adventure Travel Trade Association’s Regional Event “AdventureELEVATE” Goes Global With Its First Event In Jordan
Event Aims to Deliver Economic and Sustainable Impact By Showcasing
Active Travel Destinations to Travel Community

(AMMAN, JORDAN; 20 April 2023) - The Adventure Travel Trade Association™ (ATTA) takes its trademark three-day regional event, AdventureELEVATE, global traveling to Amman, Jordan 12-14 October, 2023.

While the global adventure and sustainable travel community have traveled from far and wide to attend the event in North America since 2015, there was a growing interest to bring this high-energy event to other parts of the globe. Replacing ATTA’s previous AdventureNEXT Near East branded event held in 2017, 2018, and 2019 in Jordan, AdventureELEVATE Near East will bring travel, trade, and media together to showcase this active travel destination.

“Three years in a row, there was momentum building from AdventureNEXT in Jordan,” says Shannon Stowell, ATTA CEO. “ While Covid forced a break in the action, we’re eager to return with AdventureELEVATE Near East. Jordan offers a powerful combination of culture, nature, and activity for the ATTA community to experience and then share with their travelers and readers.”

Research from ATTA’s 2022 Adventure Travel Snapshot Survey also strongly indicates that the adventure traveler’s biggest motivators for travel are focusing on new experiences, off the beaten path destinations, and traveling like a local with places in the Mediterranean being at the top of the trending hottest destinations.

“We welcome our colleagues and suppliers from our region to come meet with international buyers who focus on adventure, luxury, sustainable, and cultural travel,” says Dr. Abdalrazzaq Arabiyat, Managing Director Jordan Tourism Board. “The economic impact in new tourism business to Jordan from hosting AdventureNEXT Near East three years in a row was approximately $17 million, and it is our hope that this converts into sustainable tourism growth for the region as a whole”.

From exploring the northwest through pine forests and olive groves to hiking through the desert wilderness of Wadi Rum and the ancient city of Petra, and enjoying the coastal breezy city of Aqaba and scuba diving in the Red Sea, Jordan offers an abundance of experiences for adventure-seekers and any discerning active traveler.

“Jordan offers a diverse array of active travel experiences that build connections between travelers and local Jordanians throughout the country,” explains Malia Asfour, Managing Director Jordan Tourism Board North America. “By hosting AdventureELEVATE we will create economic opportunities to increase tourism income to local communities throughout the kingdom that are still recovering from the pandemic.”

Stay up to date with AdventureELEVATE 2023 Near East by signing up for updates on the event’s page and by following ATTA’s Instagram.
