Discover Ancient Jordan By Mountain Travel Sobek

Filled with stunning desert landscapes and wondrous historical sites, and exuding a warm tradition of hospitality, Jordan captures the magic of the Middle East! On this special new 12-day adventure, led by MTS lifetime adventurer Kevin Callaghan and his equally intrepid wife Diann, you’ll experience both the highlights of the country and its lesser-known desert routes as you hike through the Dana Biosphere Reserve and take Bedouin paths through the Sharah Mountains.

Trips by G Adventure

Visiting Jordan is the kind of trip you plan around the sights and return talking about the people. There's no shortage of sights: even in a region full of must-sees, Petra – an entire city carved from reddish sandstone cliffs – is one of the most awe-inspiring archaeological sites in the world. Jordan's desert landscape and strangely familiar names evoke romantic images in the West; here, you can literally walk in the footsteps of Jesus or Lawrence of Arabia (or Indiana Jones, if you prefer). But whether your taste is world-class diving in the Red Sea or the healing mud treatments of Dead Sea spas, Jordan's most lasting impression always seems to be its warm, welcoming people.

Trips By Intrepid Travel

Modern cities filled with worldly citizens, mountainous regions dotted with small villages, and deserts inhabited by the nomadic Bedouin - Jordan has all this diversity and more. With the cosmopolitan cafes of Amman, the peace of hilltop Dana and the historic treasures of Madaba, you may come to Jordan to see the ruins of Petra, but you’ll leave having encountered so much more.
